And it pretty much sums up the way I feel about paying taxes. Actually, I'm alright with the concept of taxes, since it's the only way the government would be able to fund anything that's in the interest of the American public. But most of us suspect that our money is misspent. I think this article says what I feel about it.

I am interested in knowing more about protesting the way our taxes are spent. This is robbery. They take out $$$ from my paychecks to fund things that I feel like aren't beneficial to this country. No, no, don't get me wrong. I am totally supportive of the idea of having a military. To defend us. But what is the military doing anyway? They're secretive on our tax money. Why don't we hear more about how our National Guards are doing? Why are we always hearing about the war on the other side of the world? Why are we funding a war that hasn't explained exactly why it's defending us?

If my taxes were more about funding schools, healthcare, science and technology programs, and you know, things that can actually build a better future within the borders of this country, I'm all for it. I'm not going to get into a political rant and write about anything more, it's almost midnight and I'm just browsing the net while my hair is drying.

And don't get me wrong again, I am all for the citizen who decides to join the military on the basis they are proud to defend this country from attackers and missiles pointed at us. I want to support those who defend me. I was once interested in doing that for a living, but things got jumbled and I am no longer in the mindset to jump in. Well - I can't help but think that there wouldn't be missiles if America wasn't hated for a reason. I find it hard to believe that any country would hate us just because we're America. America did something wrong to them, but no one tells us these things. Our tax money, at work, indeed.

Mommy blogs

I like to read a lot of parenting blogs, and there are so many that I laugh at, only because I know exactly what its talking about.

One of my favorite blogs was about how some parents like to compare their kids to other kids. And whenever I think about that particular blog, I often wonder how exaggerated some parents are when they do talk about their kids. No offense to some of y'all, but I have a hard time believing some of the things I hear. :) That's just my opinion.

my dear sweet girl

I'm at work and received news from hubby who is off today that our little girl rolled over! She is only 4 and a half months young. We have gone through baby milestones before with gerard but this feels likie brand new again! Because it is....

Amazing that while we know what milestones to expect, we are still so gaga over aubrey's own milestones. I love seeing my little ones achieve their own. As a mother, it means everything. To non-parents, go ahead and roll your eyes :) its one of those where you'll never know the feeling until you're in our world. =P

Super Bebey Party

This past Sunday was a big day for my kids.

Gerard turned 2, and Aubrey got baptised.

The baptism took place at our community church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help. There was a big group of baptisms, and Aubrey was one of the quieter ones ;-) But she did get impatient towards the end.

The party was at a nearby sushi buffet, and was joined by Gerard's 2nd birthday. What a great day! It rained, but quite a few family friends made the dinner. The highlight of the day was Gerard's candle blowing. He was not able to blow out the candles (good try, though!), but he got so excited during the birthday song. He raised his arms, clapped, and had his big smile on that he only wears when he's that happy.

Because we have never really publicly shared this info, we thought it might be a nice gesture to finally share who our kids' Godparents are. Gerard was baptised in August 2008.

Breastpump endorsement

Evenflo. Medela. Lansinoh. Avent.
Each have their own line of manual and electric pumps. I own an electric Evenflo and a manual Medela. During the nursing days for my first born, I relied on the Evenflo to pump. Until one day, it acted funny. It prompted me to run to Walgreens but they only had Medela pumps. I picked up the manual because I didn't feel like spending too much when at the time, I was already nearing the end of my nursing days.

Now with my second child, I mostly relied on the Medela pump. I didn't trust the Evenflo anymore. I am still nursing (she is 4 months now) but in the last couple of weeks, I've been hand pumping.

So this endorsement blog isn't about any of those products I just named ;-)

I must say, hand pumping is, well, handy. I endorse this because for one, I've been lucky with a good amount of milk (though not the best). I do think this is probably the best way for me to leave atleast 5-6 ounces of expressed milk for my baby while I'm at work. The milk goes directly into the bottle, and will less likely taste like soap. Cleaning out the Medela was easy, but I always second guessed if there was still any soap sud even though I rinse(d) all baby feeding products thoroughly.

2 years ago

It was 2 years ago I was sent to the hospital for a surprise induction. Due to low fluids in my amniotic sac, I delivered 2 weeks before my due date.

Today, we have a very, very energetic toddler. He turns 2 today, and will celebrate the day with a joint party with his baby sister's baptism.

My life has changed ever so much since my rock n roll days, and I wouldn't have it any other way. =)

Today, April 11, 2010, is our son's birthday.

Happy 2nd Birthday, lil dude!!!!! We love you so very much, even when you get your brat on.
