Mornings with us

Most days are already crazy in gettig both of you ready and out of the house on time. Today was no different but it is irritatig to me that this keeps happening. You both complain about breakfast because i dont serve cereal. You take your sweet time eating. You talk too much when brushing teeth and we are almost out of time. Then grabbing all of your bags, which i do myself to make sure the right bags get grabbed, eats up all my hands so i make you (yelling involved) move it fast and be downstairs to put shoes on. By the time i meet you there, neither of you have shoes on so that boils me up more. Just put them in and stop bickering over whatever!!! Then you both cant figure out what shoes to wear, you finally choose what i wont let you wear (no rainboots on a sunny day!) or you want the shoes with long laces. Im glad gerard can tie is own laces but we are running late and you are still slow at tying. Move it! Come down earlier and figure out your shoes before i come down!!! We have to leave once i am down with all of our bags and my phone.

Thats our mornings. Sometimes i even scold both or either of you on the way for whatever it is you ticked me off with.

But not a drop off goes by without hugs, kisses and our messages to one another ("have a great day," "see you at the end of the day!") and as the end of the day happens, we snuggle wih more hugs and kisses and ask each other how the day was. All of that morning drama -- forgotten.

School girl!

Aubrey is enjoying her new school! You're learning so many new songs in such a short period of time. I have always believed you are a smart little girl since birth, I don't know how I can back up the claim but you, my dear, are proving me correct.

Keep it up my sweet girl!! I love you sooooooooo much.

First grader!

This morning, there was a suggestion box in the schoolyard for students to drop their song suggestions for the upcoming family dance. I convinced Gerard his suggestion -- the Transformers theme song -- might get ignored. He then wrote, "Rock n Roll Radio by the Ramones."

He would be elated if they really play it!

And what a start to first grade. He aced his first spelling test plus two bonus words!!

This weekend (Labor Day) was our first hosted sleepover with Spyder and Cricket. We spent Saturday evening with them at the Surf Spot in Pacifica, then a sleepover was planned that evening for the next day. You two were so excited about it.

Today is Monday, and this is you both at 5pm. Tired from a very fun, exciting weekend with your friends.
