Big brother Gerard

at branes and noble for the lego event 2 weekends ago, i was in a section reading some marketing books and the kids got separated from me. i thought they were in the toys section. i went looking for them.. and saw them walking around. gerard looked like he was about to cry.. but he was holding his sister's hand leading her around the storejust for that.. i gave him good points when we got home. we always tell him: if they ever get separated from their grown up, they should always stay together and he is never to leave aubrey behind. good job, big brother. <3

First Disney on Ice show today! Aubrey was more into it, and Gerard not so much.
It always makes me happy to see you so happy, my beautiful girl.
Though you had diarrhea since Friday, I insisted you come because tickets are non-refundable. You did well, my dear. You waited until we got to a toilet to go.

Gerard, your obsession with Ella is hilarious.
Today, you brought up (again and again) that you will marry her.
When I asked what if she doesn't want you to marry her?
You said: Then I'll live with her and follow her wherever she goes.
You continued with: We can cook for each other even if we're not married.
Where did you learn that?
You said it was from papa.

Bacon and cream cheese goodness

I found this recipe on Pinterest. Over the holidays, i had an urge for tomato eating and this recipe was so perfect. Everything i like: tomato, bacon, cream cheese and pepper. 

No calorie meal (also great as a snack!) and easy to make. However, since i do not like to cook much, i find it time consuming to prepare. But this is something i can do with enough time management!! 

Im reminiscing at work about the first times you each had an order of food when we ate out.

Gerard: at pluto's on irving, we ordered your own mac n cheese plate. Must have been feb 2009.

Aubrey: at a seaside restaurant in san diego. I dont remember the order but it was a split plate with gerard. Possibly grilled salmon? It was during our legoland trip, your first travel!

Starting the year right!

For the first time in almost five years, I've found some time to work out 3x a week. It's a start. It's only been a week since I've started, but I wish to keep it going.

And for the first time in forever (!!!) I can play guitar for you children again. We are learning songs from Frozen!!! Someday I hope to write originals with you two, whoever is interested.

Today we put some volunteer time as a whole family. Aubrey's first, and Gerard's second. Let's keep this going! Aubrey, you cried when we told you to sticker the bags instead of scooping (you're too short, lady!) but eventually you listened and stickered. YOU DID A GREAT JOB at that. You and Gerard, both. 

It's a good start to the year, and I hope good things keep coming to all of us. 

When have I ever been ready for Christmas?
Parol isn't up, lights aren't up, shopping hasn't started, mall Santa picture not accomplished, Christmas cards not sent (nor has the box been opened). Only our little tree has been set, although one side of it is not decorated since G & A didn't realize that there is another side to the tree.
But in no way are any of the above have replaced the true meaning of the season. Just saying.
