If only the whole world had this kind of love...

My weird kids are so loving lately.

Yesterday morning, I was forced to wake up, but couldn't get up easily because the brats were fighting over who gets to cuddle in my left arm (neither wanted to be in my right arm). It's really funny how they're fighting for my attention. Gerard has been randomly telling me, "I'm yours, mama." And when Aubrey sees him going up to sit on my lap, she'll go to us and say "mine!" Referring that I am hers.

I certainly feel loved, although, I suspect this is some sort of phase. But I'll take it!

Speaking of phases, Aubrey is in another strange phase. She has this obsession with a particular jacket. Even when it's warm in the house, she insists on wearing it. And she wants it buttoned. When the button gets undone, she cries about it.

Looking at a can of Rosarita refried beans, Gerard sees the woman in its logo and says: "It's Grandma!"

Me: I don't think so. She looks Mexican. Grandma is Filipino.

Gerard: No, grandma is downstairs.

Why Mother's Day is everyday

Well, if the world really does end on May 21, I can say my life is complete.

While washing my daughter's poop-covered butt, some water splashed past my lips (into my semi-open mouth). This complements my son's vomit that went into my mouth one time, also when my mouth was semi-open.

Gerard and his gun

He also did that to me yesterday, Mother's Day.
He told me he had a gun, he pointed it at me and made shooting sounds.
It was a gun he made out of Lego.
Gerard, to Aubrey: "No, don't drink your milk. I have a gun."

And he makes shooting sounds. I don't know...

the little things?

The little things that keep me reminded why I love life:

When my daughter says "mama" with a smile and she approaches me with a hug.
OMG. MELTED.

Here we go again with terrible 2's. Aubrey is 17 months, and she's entered these T2's a few weeks ago. It's getting crazy each day!

Gargling, experimenting with her drinks, discovering the bathroom sink, wiping everything on her face..... there will be more on this list.
