I can't wait until Christmas :)
Aubrey would already be 1! Hopefully we can peacefully attend Christmas mass (midnight preferably). Something about the spirit in the air just makes the experience very warm to me.
It's just like ME to think about Christmas in July.

Happy 4th!
It was a low-key holiday for us here at the Hernandez nest. We had an impromptu barbeque with a fraction of our family.
Wanted to watch the fireworks but we were all pooped out. Besides, the San Francisco fog made sure we knew who was boss. She came in like a queen.
Happy Independence Day!

Dear parents:
It's always good to be informed. It is up to you to take it from there.

What a fun age!
Being 2 hasn't been so terrible in our camp.
Yes, the kid throws a tantrum here and there, but above all, he's actually a really good kid. He's learning so fast. New words everyday. I come home and get surprised/bombarded with new things this kid does.
He can identify "downstairs" and knows the names of his family and relatives. He's repeating words very quickly.
He's getting better at sharing toys with his baby sister. He's also able to identify what's hers and what's his. But his 2 year old instincts kick in at times: he wants her toys and don't always let her play with them.
He loves to "drive" grampa's van. He loves the playground and plays with other kids without a problem.
We've been so lucky with having a child like him. =) Love you, Gerard!

Aubrey, my love!
Aubrey's latest achievements:
-In mid-May, we started her on organic rice cereal
-Since then, she's also had a bit of banana and carrot
-As of June, she turned 6 months
-She now recognizes herself in the mirror and pictures
-She laughs very hard when Gerard is being funny to her
-In mid-June, she started on avocado
-She knows when it's "mama" time; during the day, it is said she is calm and not fussy. At night, when she knows mama is home from work yet mama is busy in the kitchen instead of spending the rest of the night with her, she cries for attention.
-Papa says she has said "baby" pretty clearly already; mama hasn't heard it yet

Red 40
Every parent should be aware. You don't have to believe, but just be aware. Today I had sauce with my pot stickers at a Chinese restaurant that could very well have had Red 40 in it. I took note of a migraine-like headache instantly. Last week, I was eating mints with obvious red 40 in it, and I also took note of a nuisance headache. So I'm convinced, red 40 is behind those head pains.
